Laverty Sparks is the gal you want to tell your secrets to, she’s just that trustworthy. She’s the kind of woman the others have a hard time figuring out…she’s that mysterious. But she’s the sensitive best friend, lover, neighbor, sibling, daughter, aunt, cousin, etc. who sympathizes and empathizes. And she writes about it, and for those women who have an understanding of the range of emotions when dealing with intimacy. From her writing studio aptly named “That’s All She Wrote,” she’s published or had traditionally published nine books: five women’s fictions, one historical fiction, two short-story collections, and one erotic collection. Laverty lives in the Midwest with her husband who both like traveling, casino gambling, photography and embarking on political activism. Her motto remains: “When all the words have slipped away, nothing will remain.”
Rick Waugh is a writer of fantasy books and the music that accompanies them. His fiction is neither steamy nor stabby, not explicit in either subject. It’s aimed at adults, with adult themes, and includes LGBTQ characters. It’s always full of adventure, a bit of romance, and a healthy dose of humor.
Rick lives in the Greater Vancouver area on Canada’s west coast, and is happily married with three wonderful daughters. He spent his career in Information Technology, before retiring into creative pursuits, writing, playing guitar and composing music.
Sal Casamassima took early retirement from his corporate job and wandered through various pursuits such as coaching his daughter’s softball teams and amateur wine making. During his wanderings in retirement wonderland, Sal constantly annoyed his daughter by expressing his desire to write a mystery novel. In a vain attempt to stop his endless banter, she told hm to put up or shut up by taking on the NaNoWriMo challenge to complete a 50,000-word novel in the month of November. Of course, Sal failed to complete the required word count but was infected by the writing bug and trudged forward to complete his first novel.
His story and characters in his books are set in contemporary society and actual cities where the crime to be solved is grounded in reality and influenced by the societal challenges we all confront in today’s world. His main characters may have their own quirks and personality flaws but they are portrayed as real people that most of us can relate to. Sal begins writing his books without a final script or outline in mind. He has no clue how the mystery will be solved and leaves it to his protagonists to solve the case for him in real time. He is their stenographer and simply types what they are speaking or thinking.
Sal lives in sunny San Diego, the primary locale for his first novel. He takes advantage of this balmy San Diego weather and goes for aimless walks with his Minpin dog, Zuzu (who is portrayed in his books.)
Molly Jane is a Children and Teen Services Librarian at a tiny public library. She earned her undergraduate degree in Classics and English and then continued on to get her graduate degree in Information Management and Library Science.
She began writing stories when she was too young to remember and finished her first book when she was in Highschool. That book was rewritten as an adult and became the first book she published!
Her favorite authors are Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, and Sarah J. Maas. She spends her free time singing, reading, and of course, writing.

Such darkness he had never known. In all the centuries of his long life, the wizard had felt nothing as loathsome as this. Torturous days and weeks lay behind, endless horror ahead. He was helpless in the grip of doom.

The pit was 200 cubits deep but only three cubits in diameter. The prisoner lay curled at its bottom like a snake in a well. Fetid dankness swirled about him, creeping in and out of his nostrils with every breath. A chill like no other clung to his body, freezing his heart.
All he had left were his memories, which provided his only relief from the relentless blackness. He immersed himself in them, focusing on the past instead of the present. Doing this went against all that he held true. But it kept him sane.

Comedy fiction author Jinx James was born in the UK and lives in Australia. He worked in music and advertising and has always been fascinated by charisma, satire, and what makes people laugh. He’s also intrigued by how his characters react when confronted by a terrifying dilemma. As he always says, it’s the characters that write the stories, not him. They seem to somehow insist that their voices are heard, and often it’s with a chuckle.
